Al Ezaria Wall, Palestine The Al Ezaria district, which was one of the most, if not the most important commercial link between the whole West Bank and Jerusalem, has lost its effectiveness because of the land confiscation in this area and in the neighboring villages through the erection of the separation wall. Bethany and Abu Diz are Palestinian towns located in Al Ezaria. With their large Arab as well as Christian population Israel wishes to keep the communities separated from the Jewish territories in order to maintain a dominant Jewish majority in this area. However, the 9m high barrier separates families from each other, from their work and fields, from schools and medical care and from their places of worship. |
